Horatio Spafford, Tragedy & Triumph

Here is a video of how the joyful lyrics of the hymn "It Is Well With My Soul" were written after a series of terrible events. Courtesy of YouTube.

"I will turn their mourning into gladness; I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow."
---Jeremiah 31:13

Another video of the hymn. A beautiful rendition by Westover Church Choir. Also by courtesy of YouTube.

hi brother jonas,

this is one of my favorite gospel songs. the lyrics have a resonance to believers that despite all the troubles in this world, we can have the confidence that God is in control. i like the rendition by the isaacs. it is also available in youtube.

I always cry every time this hymn is performed either vocally or instrumentally. Knowing the story behind it, I can just imagine God's comfort as the author pen down the words. I always remember this hymn whenever I feel down. It was played on my dad's funeral service. Thanks for posting it.
